Raya at LadyJava's Place

During the Raya celebration month, blogger extraordinaire, LadyJava invited me and Choul to her place. Of course, she invited the other allstars of the blogging circle but me and Choul were fortunate enough to make it that day. It was fortunate too that we had another friend's place to visit that day which was close to her home. Thanks to the power of Google, I made it to LJ's place without getting lost. No u-turns, no asking around. We just made it there with the address LJ gave, and thats quite a feat for me since I get lost easily huhuhuhu.

Saying we were a bit nervous is an understatement since we didn't know LJ that much. I mean sure, me and LJ exchanged comments and tweets, but I never really annoyed LJ that much. I get more annoying when I'm comfortable, so if you're getting more and more annoyed, that means I'm getting friendlier hahahaha. Ask my wife, she knows better huhuhuhu.

As we arrive there, which is pretty cool, literally, since her place is at a hillside, we were sent to the visitor parking which we couldn't find, so we did an illegal parking like any true Malaysian would do huhuhu. We reached LJ's house about 5 minutes after that, and we were both nervous. I mean c'mon, I don't even know how LJ looks like and we were practically strangers. We could even be greeting the wrong person since it was Raya and everyone's inviting everyone. LJ was nice enough to make fun of that fact, as soon as we greeted at the front door, she was giggling at our awkwardness.

LJ was very warm and friendly to welcome us to her home. The first thing that caught me was the beautiful view of the city skyline from her house. I knew then how she get so inspired to write in her several hundred blogs (slight exaggeration haha). I wish I could handle the amount of blogs she has, I mean I can't even be consistent with one blog and I have two! Even this post is WAY WAY WAY overdue, and I'm currently trying to cut through my writer's block like a warm knife through butter.

The generous food cooked for her Raya visitors.

Posing with the food, since the hosts are anonymous LOL

She prepared a lot of food, and one of the most notable dish were the sambal goreng, which is a dish from Singapore. I'm not good with labelling dishes, but I do remember I tried the rendang and nasi impit too. Delicious food, thanks to LJ. Besides, she said I have to claim its delicious even if its not. Fortunately LJ, your dishes are great and we both enjoyed it very much.

Smokey at the top of the bunk bed, Aggie Waggy with the neck bandage. I have no idea who's at the bottom. A little help LJ?

Is this Minnie? Only LJ can help.

It didn't take too long before I asked LJ, "Where are your cats?", and she gladly showed me the Cat Apartment where all of her beloved cats are lounging. In case you didn't know, LJ is a cat owner too, cats in fact, and she has her own cat blog called Blogger Cats. Go and check it out when you have time. Looking at the four cats she has truly made me reminisce the good ol' days of me having cats as pets. Her cats, Awan, Aggie, Smokey, Minne and Nina were damn adorable, though the only one that paid attention to me was Awan, and so she's my favourite cat! Ahahaha. Awan was such a cutey, she played with my camera's strap and even when under Choul's baju kurung. Freaking cute! I want Awan!

Awan practically begging me to take her home with me

Awan playing hide and seek under Choul's baju kurung.

Awan just being cute. Like I said, I like Awan!

After that we talked to LJ about blogs generally, and she gave me tips on how to make income from blogs. Interesting stuff, its like building your own business so effort is key. We also "gossiped" about the other bloggers hahahaha.

As we were about to leave, we finally managed to meet up her husband, A who is equally a warm person. I truly enjoyed the short but fun Raya visit at LJ's. Thanks to both of you, LJ and A.

A lonely monkey doing what it does best.

Oh after that we went to Jibb and Su's house in Setiawangsa. It took us 40 minutes to reach there for a trip that can be 15 minutes since Setiawangsa was closeby LJ's home. It was a challenge for me trying to get to Setiawangsa, as the road signs were so confusing! Yes, it is not my fault! Anyway, It was a short visit, as actually, he's my sis' friend, so me and Soul were her representative. Feeling awkward was an understatement, but we still enjoyed the visit, though we felt like a couple of complete strangers. Nothing wrong on the host's hospitality either, since I do know they are a very friendly couple. Its just that I didn't know what to talk about since I didn't really know them.

Beautiful apartments

Their place was luxurious to say the least, full security, very serene (which was amazing since its in the middle of the city), and the pool was gorgeous. Peaceful? Probably, if there weren't a trio of middle eastern origin (maybe) jumping from a roof to the pool. The other pool-goers were obviously irritated by their behaviour. They even hid themselves from the security guards by laying face down on the roof while they were searching for them. Cheeky.

Here's the roof I'm talking about

And here they are hiding. Sorry for the bad focus.

Seeing them doing their acrobatics just reminded me of a video of another middle eastern guy jumping from a bridge to the sea, for kicks of course, but ended up missing the sea and hitting the concrete floor just beside it. He lived but the next scene of the video was showing how doctors were trying to sew up his face that split open, LITERALLY. Scary shit that.

I guess that's it for me here. Thanks again to LJ!
