Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2009 / Eid Mubarak 2009

This post is dedicated to all my Muslim friends and visitors, Selamat Hari Raya (Eid Mubarak) and Maaf Zahir Batin to you. First and foremost, I would like to apologise for all the wrongs I've did, and for all the annoyance I've dished, to everyone, Muslim or non-Muslims. Thousand apologies! Secondly, I hope you have a blessed and joyful Aidilfitri with your loved ones. Thirdly, all of us are pretty impatient in jams, I know, I'm Malaysian, but please oh please be alert and careful while driving back to your hometown. There's enough road tragedies going around so lets not be part of the statistics.

Well, I thought of putting in a quick Raya related sketch, so I did this to give you some food for thought (or tart, wow major punnage there). What do you think? Raya enough? Heheh.

This year's Hari Raya marks the first year I get to celebrate it with a wife by my side. I'm quite excited and flattered to have Choul with me, and can't wait to be celebrating Raya with her.

An interesting coincidence happened earlier on, a friend gave me a Hari Raya greeting via Facebook attached with a graphic. What's funny is that its the Hari Raya graphic I did back in 2005. Big dejavu for me. What goes around comes around? Is that the right time to use this? I then googled "Selamat Hari Raya" and lo and behold, I see my illustration in the 2nd spot for suggested images. I'm quite flattered hahaha. Here's the illustration I'm talking about...

Again, on behalf of me and my wife, Suliza a.ka Soulie, Selamat Hari Raya & Maaf Zahir Batin!

DBH Halloweek 3 Contest Entry - Bam-Boo!

Firstly, sorry for the cross-post, I need all the votes I can get :D

Hello again. I know I haven't updated much, so I'm making up for it with this contest entry. I would say its one of my best illustrations ever, not technically, but for its idea. Well, I'd like to think so. Its my 2nd attempt in DBH, but this time I designed it specifically for t-shirts, using the t-shirt dimensions as a canvas. Here's the design and placement on t-shirt,

Description:
As you all may know, pandas eat bamboos. A lot of bamboos. What if the bamboo trees had souls, and decides to come back and haunt the pandas. This particular design illustrates how a bamboo can actually, be spooky and scare an unknowing panda.

Premise of the design is, the soul leaves the bamboo shell and goes around the back of the t-shirt, only to come back just beside the wearers neck to proceed with its devilish deed.

Here's a slightly closer look at my design,

If you like it, please support my design and vote for me HERE. I really hope I can get this printed because I myself want to try wearing it. Talk about self-promotion. Thanks for viewing and thanks in advance for voting!
To all who have voted for me, I thank you too!

MM - Sugar Ray cover of Day And Night by Kid Cudi

Surprise, surprise, I'm putting myself back in Music Monday's list, well maybe just for this week. There's a reason though, that's because I just came across this great video of Sugar Ray. I don't know if you're familiar with Kid Cudi's Day And Night, but it has been gaining airplay on the radio and everywhere else, including a game I play on my Xbox 360 (Midnight Club : Los Angeles). Basically, I like Kid Cudi's version, and I know that because out of nowhere I'd be humming the tune and singing the song to myself.
A friend of mine showed me this video and I was like, wow. Sugar Ray's version is quite an awesome piece of work even if they looked like they were having a relaxed jam session. Of course, I'm a sucker for live music. It's not particularly live, but you get what I mean (I hope). Enjoy!

Come join Music Monday and share your songs with us. One simple rule, leave ONLY the actual post link here. You can grab this code at LJL Please note these links are STRICTLY for Music Monday participants only. All others will be deleted without prejudice.

Yours is yours. Ours is ours. Nobody's stealing anything.

Hey folks, its been awhile, just a bit more than a month eh? Well, its time I posted something, unfortunately its a rant, something that is more suitable in Nick's blog, Bikin Panas. I'll cut to the chase lah, its about the Indonesians and their undying patriotism that doesn't make sense. The debacle started from this nonsense that Discovery Channel made, by airing a wonderful show called Enigmatic Malaysia. Indonesia's great Tari Pendet, which is famous in Bali's culture was claimed as being Malaysian. And that's where the higher-ups at Indonesia got pissed off and demanded Malaysia to give an explanation for this blasphemy of the highest order.

News Flash, my dear Indonesians, Discovery gave an apology, and even displayed it on their channel, and our Culture Minister, Rais Yatim even sent an apology, for something that has nothing to do with the Malaysian government. And guess what, it was rejected by your emotional minister. It was so freaking clear that it was Discovery at fault, yet, your minister whom I couldn't be bothered with the name claims that it is still Malaysia's fault. Well done.
